He wondered why?
Crouched in a little shade he wondered why
He was sharing intimacies with this man
After such a short acquaintance.
Perched on a rock in a slow moving river
He wondered how?
How could it be that in the short moment
Of time they’d spent in one another’s company
They were both so naked and free
He didn’t realize his dark hair sparkled
With water drops that cascaded
Down the smooth skin of his shoulder.
He didn’t know his brooding thought
Had been caught, captured forever
By the long-lashed eyes of his new friend.
No one knows how truly beautiful he can be
That one special moment: say
Perched on a rock in a slow moving
River wearing nothing but a little shade.
