Pride Continues

On July 11, Roger Williams Park continued PRIDE with a celebration after normal hours that included viewing of the animals; some with a closer look than usual with the guidance of their expert, knowledgeable, and friendly staff.

Also, on hand to celebrate were local organizations like Open Door, House of Codec, TGI, Thundermist, Free Mom Hugs, Youth Pride, BVAC, and PFLAG. There was Queer-e-oke , and ACE DJ entertainment kept the tunes flowing.

Cocktails and mocktails, Pizza and a cafe were crowded with hungry queer revelers.

The evening was topped off with a drag show that featured Coco LaFrea, Kvng Neptune, Ivy Amore, Lulu Levity, Brae the Fallen, Darren Tashine, Mikabee, and Sterlyn Silva. An original painting was auctioned off for $350.00

Three lucky audience members had the opportunity to come onstage and show off their lip-syncing talents. This was the second year Roger Williams Park hosted a queer celebration, and considering the success of this event, let’s hope it will continue year after year.
