Tuesday, July 1st- the day after Pride month- Options Magazine threw its first Dance Party Fundraiser. This party was to end Pride month with a dance, and to fundraise for Options to continue operations and support queer media.
We held our fundraiser at the newly opened The Vu LGBT Lounge in downtown Providence. Complete with raffle prizes, great music, drinks, and a killer drag performance, the night was a success! Our very own board chair performed an amazing show as Kvng Neptune and blew the crowd away. Who knew a Tuesday night would draw such an amazing crowd?

The Vu- an amazing Venue just downstairs at 121 Washington St owned by an amazing couple that includes Darlene Shleshinger, who donated the venue to us free for the night. This was our largest, most generous donation.
Speaking of donations, we received a number of amazing prizes donated from many LGBT supporting businesses:
● Sin Bakery who donated a $50 gift card
● Mister Sister who donated a pleasure package of toys and lube
● Books on the Square who donated ELEVEN LGBTQ+ books
● Corvid Publishing who donated Haunted Hallways
● Horror Depot who donated four tickets to their Dark Arts Festival, and
● Potter League who donated a swag bag for pet lovers valued at $143

We would not have been able to fundraise towards our goal of $8,000 without these generous contributions. Nor would we have had such a great turnout if we had not had that amazing performance by Kvng Neptune, who rocked the house! Neptune gave a spectacular drag show performance that I’d have been disappointed to miss.
Make sure to support The Vu and every one of these amazing businesses
